As for the sofa itself, my expectations were low given the price, but it’s still disappointing. The cushions are not comfortable, and the sofa-bed mechanism is poorly made, squeals loudly, and feels very flimsy when pulling out the bottom section. The product photos are misleading—the armrests and backrest cushions look bizarre in reality (see photos)
The positives are that the seat cushion cover is removable and the material seems easy to maintain.
Delivery was an absolute disaster. I ended up paying £150 in delivery fees due to the company’s lack of clear information about packaging size and access requirements. I selected the most expensive delivery option (£110) for delivery to the room of choice, to a first-floor flat in a standard Victorian house. However, the driver arrived alone and was not informed that the delivery was to the first floor. He also claimed the access was too narrow because the sofa was delivered as one huge, fully assembled package.
The driver then threatened to leave the parcel at the common entrance unless I paid an additional £40 on the spot for dismantling and reassembly. I had no choice but to pay. The dismantling and reassembly took less than 5 minutes and was only partial, purely to get it through the staircase.
If Weilei Concept had clearly stated the packaging size or access requirements in the product information, this situation could have been avoided. Despite this being clearly their responsibility, they refused to reimburse the extra charge.
